Income-eligible New York households may qualify for insulation and air sealing at no out-of-pocket cost through NYSERDA's EmPower+ program. We check whether you may qualify, help you through the application, and connect you with one of our NYSERDA participating contractor partners, who does the assessment and the work.
Four steps. The first one takes about a minute, and you don't need any documents to start.
About a minute. We ask where you live, how you heat your home, and whether you receive any benefits. No documents, and no credit check.
EmPower+ income limits are set per county and per household size. We check yours against the current tables and tell you which tier you likely fall into. The program makes the final decision.
One of our NYSERDA participating contractor partners visits and surveys your home at no cost to you. That assessment is what determines the work your home actually needs.
Our participating contractor partner does the insulation and air sealing, at no out-of-pocket cost if you qualify for the lower-income tier, or heavily subsidized if you qualify as moderate income. You apply through NYSERDA's MyEnergy portal, and we'll help you through it.
Two things matter most: your household income relative to your county, and whether you own a 1–4 family home. There's no credit check, and we don't ask for income documents to start.
Insulation is usually the first upgrade worth doing. Ask us about heat pumps and solar once your home is sealed.
